Section 1. TMC Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," Amended. Ordinance No. 2075 §1 <br />(part), as codified in Tukwila Municipal Code (TMC) Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," under <br />the subparagraph entitled "Adaptive Management," is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Adaptive Management <br />"Adaptive management" means the use of scientific methods to evaluate how well <br />regulatory and non -regulatory actions protect a critical area. <br />Section 2. New Definition Adopted. A new section is hereby added to TMC <br />Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," as follows: <br />Alteration <br />"Alteration" means any human -induced change in an existing condition of a critical <br />area or its buffer. Alterations include, but are not limited to, grading, filling, channelizing, <br />dredging, clearing of vegetation, construction, compaction, excavation, or any other <br />activity that changes the character of the critical area. <br />Section 3. TMC Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," Amended. Ordinance No. 2075 §1 <br />(part), as codified in TMC Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," under the subparagraph entitled <br />"Best Available Science," is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Best Available Science <br />"Best Available Science" means that scientific information applicable to the critical <br />area prepared by appropriate local, state or federal agencies, a qualified scientist or team <br />of qualified scientists, which will be consistent with the criteria established in WAG 365- <br />195-900 through WAC 365-195-925. Characteristics of a valid scientific process will be <br />considered to determine whether information received during the permit review process <br />is reliable scientific information. A valid scientific process includes some or all of the <br />following characteristics: <br />1. Peer reviewed research or background information. <br />2. Study methods clearly stated. <br />3. Conclusions based on logical assumptions. <br />4. Quantitative analysis. <br />5. Proper context is established. <br />6.
