Section 8. TMC Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," Amended. Ordinance No. 1758 §1 <br />(part), as codified in TMC Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," under the subparagraph entitled <br />"Sensitive Area Regulated Activities," is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Critical Area Regulated Activities <br />"Critical area regulated activities" means any of the following activities that are directly <br />undertaken or originate in a regulated wetland or watercourse or their buffers: <br />1. Removal, excavation, grading or dredging of soil, sand, gravel, minerals, <br />organic matter or material of any kind; <br />2. Dumping, discharging or filling with any material; <br />3. Draining, flooding or disturbing the water level or water table; <br />4. Driving of pilings; <br />5. Placing of obstructions; <br />6. Construction, reconstruction, demolition or expansion of any structure; <br />7. Destruction or alteration of wetlands, watercourses or their buffers through <br />clearing, harvesting, shading, intentional burning or planting of vegetation that would alter <br />the character of a regulated wetland, watercourse or buffer, provided that these activities <br />are not part of a forest practice governed under RCW 76.09 and its rules; or <br />8. Activities that result in a significant change to the water sources of wetlands <br />or watercourses. These alterations include a significant change in water temperature, <br />physical or chemical characteristics, including quantity; and the introduction of pollutants. <br />Section 9. TMC Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," Amended. Ordinance Nos. 2075 §1 <br />(part) and 1758 §1 (part), as codified in TMC Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," under the <br />subparagraph entitled "Sensitive Areas," are hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Critical Areas <br />"Critical areas" means wetlands, watercourses, areas of potential geologic instability <br />(other than Class I areas), abandoned coal mine areas, fish and wildlife habitat <br />conservation areas, and special hazard flood areas. <br />Section 10. TMC Chapter 18.06, "Definitions," Amended. Ordinance Nos. 2075 §1 <br />(part) and 1758 §1 (part), as codified in TMC Chapter 1.8.06, "Definitions," under the <br />subparagraph entitled "Sensitive Areas Ordinance," are hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br />Critical Areas Ordinance <br />"Critical Areas Ordinance" means the Environmentally Critical Areas chapter of this <br />title or as amended hereafter which establishes standards for land development on lots <br />with critical areas (e.g. steep slopes, wetlands, watercourses, etc.). <br />w:lLegislative Development\Critical Areas update 2-25-20 <br />MD:bjs Review and analysis by Barbara Saxton Page 5 of 87 <br />
