Date: <br />Time: <br />Location: <br />Present: <br />Absent: <br />Staff: <br />Adopt <br />Minutes: <br />City of Tukwila <br />Planning Commission <br />PLANNING COMMISSION (PC) <br />WORK SESSION MINUTES <br />February 27, 2020 <br />6:30 PM — 8:50 PM <br />Council Chambers <br />Commissioners Dennis Martinez, Louise Strander, Sharon Mann, Heidi Watters, <br />Dixie Stark, and Andrea Reay <br />Commissioner Karen Simmons <br />Deputy Director Minnie Dhaliwal and Planning Commission Secretary Wynetta <br />Bivens <br />Commissioner Mann moved to adopt the August 22, 2019 minutes. Commissioner <br />Stark seconded the motion. Motion passed. Commissioners Watters abstained due <br />to absence, and Commissioner Reay because she was not appointed to the <br />Commission until December 2019. <br />Commissioner Martinez called for a motion to promote Vice -chair Watters to the position of <br />Chair for 2020. Motion passed. <br />Commissioner Watters took her seat as chair and called for a motion to nominate a Vice -chair for <br />2020. Commissioner Stark nominated Commissioner Strander for Vice -chair for 2020, <br />Commissioner Martinez seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />Minnie Dhaliwal, Deputy Director, DCD gave an update on Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) <br />regulations, which were adopted by City Council, in 2018. Ms. Dhaliwal provided background <br />information, gave an overview of the four zoning items, and staff's list of options for potential <br />amendments for PC consideration. <br />PC recommended the following zoning amendments be forwarded to the City Council for review: <br />1. ADU Vs main house size limitations: <br />PC Recommended option 4, with a revision: <br />No % limit, just the maximum size limit of 1,000 sq. ft. for an ADU - <br />Revision: Include additional language for design guidelines to maintain the single-family <br />home look. <br />(Commissioner Martinez was in favor of option 1) <br />
