Linton, Chief <br />COPCAB Minutes <br />7/9/20 <br />6:30pm - 8pm <br />Virtual Meeting Via Teams Meeting <br />Call in #253-292-9750 <br />Members present: Jan Bolerjack, Roger Arnold, Tosh Sharp <br />Staff present: Chief Bruce Linton <br />Guest: None <br />• Board Member Jan Bolerjack called the meeting to order at 6:35pm <br />• Minutes for February 13, 2020 deferred until August meeting due to lack of a quorum present. <br />• Chiefs Update: <br />o Use of Force Policy Review - Chief Linton discussed the Tukwila Police Use -of -Force Review <br />presented to the Community Services and Safety Committee and the Equity and Social Justice <br />Commission surrounding the #8CantWait police reform proposal. <br />o An overview of the civil unrest/riot that occurred in the Central Business District at the end of <br />May was presented to the board. <br />o Chief Linton presented a brief overview of the 4th of July activities in Tukwila considering the <br />City Council full review the following week. <br />o Chief Linton updated the board regarding the approximate timeline for Justice Center Opening <br />(Construction and completion on schedule for an expected opening in September). <br />• Good of the order: Board Member Tosh Sharp spoke about the possibility of initiating a question <br />and answer feed for inclusion on the Police Department website. <br />• Meeting adjourned at 6:56pm <br />Next meeting will be on Thursday, 8/13/20 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm virtually via Microsoft Teams. <br />Please contact Bruce Linton at b.linton@tukwilawa.gov or call 206-431-2109 if you are able to attend. <br />Tukwila City Hall • 6200 Southcenter Boulevard • Tukwrtcr, WA 981,98 • 206-433-1800 • Website: TukwilaWA.gov <br />
