City of Tukwila <br />City Council Finance Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 14, 2020 - 5:30 p.m. - Electronic Meeting due to COVID-19 Emergency <br />Councilmembers Present: Verna Seal, Chair; Kathy Hougardy, Zak Idan <br />Staff Present: <br />Chair Seal called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />I. BUSINESS AGENDA <br />A. Resolution: Cancelling Outstanding Claims and Payroll Checks <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of the annual resolution that would declare the cancellation <br />of abandoned or unclaimed property that is owed to individuals or business owners in time for <br />reporting to the Washington State Department of Revenue Unclaimed Property Section by <br />November 1, 2020. This year's report includes the cancellation of outstanding claims in the <br />total amount of $16,678.88. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Unanimous approval. Forward to September 21, 2020 Regular Consent Agenda. <br />B. Resolution: Cancelling Past Due Accounts Receivable <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of the annual resolution that would declare the cancellation <br />of uncollectible accounts receivable. The total for this year includes false alarm fees equaling <br />$2,650.00 and miscellaneous billings equaling $14,635.74 for a total of $17,285.74. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Unanimous approval. Forward to September 21, 2020 Regular Consent Agenda. <br />C. Contract - Internet Services <br />Staff is seeking Council approval to renew and upgrade a contact with Zayo for fiber-optic <br />internet services. The monthly rate will remain the same at $3,250 and discontinuing the 1G <br />Express Route connection will save $1500/month. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Unanimous approval.
