City of <br />.: City Council Community Services & Safety Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 9, 2020 - 520 p. m. - Electronic Meeting due to COVID-19 Emergency <br />Councilmembers Present: Kate Kruller, Chair; Thomas McLeod, Cynthia Delostrinos Johnson <br />Staff Present: David Cline, Rachel Bianchi, Vicky Carlsen, Jay Wittwer, Eric Drever <br />Chair Kruller called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />I. BUSINESS AGENDA <br />A. 2020 3►d Quarter Fire Department Report <br />Committee members and staff continued discussion of the report. <br />/tem(s) requiring follow-up. <br />Do more public messaging on response time data. <br />Committee Recommendation; <br />Discussion only. <br />B. Ordinances: Parks and Fire Impact Fees <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of ordinances to update park and fire impact fees to include <br />the annual inflation adjustments for 2020 and 2021. <br />Items) requiring follow-up. <br />• Provide data on what other South King County Committees charge. <br />Committee Recommendation; <br />Unanimous approval. Forward to November 23, 2020 Committee of the Whole. <br />C. Resolution: 2021 Legislative Agenda <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of the 2021 Legislative Agenda. <br />Items) requiring follow-up. <br />• Agree with Finance Committee addition on financial inclusion <br />• Move Equity section to third in the order <br />Modify second bullet of Housing & Human Services: "We strongly encourage the state <br />to adequately fund human services programs based upon need for the health of the <br />safety net." <br />Move #Education section to 2nd page after Police Reform. <br />Committee Recommendation; <br />Unanimous approval. Forward to November 16, 2020 Regular Meeting. <br />
