Date: <br />Time: <br />Location: <br />Present: <br />Excused <br />Absence: <br />City of Tukwila Allan Ekbeirg�, ��M��ay <br />01 <br />►-r� - r r 0-0 sir <br />CITY OF TUKWILA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION (PC) <br />BRIEFING AND PC TRAINING <br />MINUTES <br />January 28, 2021 <br />6:30 PM <br />Virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams <br />Chair Heidi Watters; Vice Chair Louise Strander; Commissioners Dennis Martinez, <br />Sharon Mann, Karen Simmons, and Andrea Reay <br />Commissioner Dixie Stark <br />Staff: Mayor Ekberg; Department of Community Development (DCD) Director Jack Pace; <br />DCD Deputy Director Minnie Dhaliwal; Senior Planner Max Baker; Business Relations <br />Manager Brandon Miles; City Attorney Andrew Tsoming; and Planning Commission <br />Secretary Wynetta Bivens <br />Agenda: Election of PC Officers; Tukwila South presentation; and PC Training <br />Adopt: Commissioner Reay moved to adopt the 12/10/20 minutes <br />Minutes: Commissioner Martinez seconded the motion. Commissioner Mann abstained from <br />voting because she did not attend the meeting. Motion passed. <br />Chair Watters called the meeting to order. <br />Commissioner Martinez moved to elect Commissioner Louise Strander for the 2021 PC Chair and <br />Commissioner Karen Simmons for the 2021 Vice Chair. Commissioner Reay seconded the motion. The <br />PC unanimously voted to approve Louise Strander and Karen Simmons as the 2021 PC officers. <br />Commissioner Strander took over presiding of the meeting as Chair. <br />Minnie Dhaliwal, DCD Deputy Director provided explanation of the land acknowledgement statement, <br />which the City Council has suggested that Planning Commission consider reciting at each PC meeting. <br />Commissioners Martinez and Commissioner Mann asked if the city attorney had reviewed this policy. <br />Staff said they will follow up with the city attorney and provide a response back to the Commission. <br />Brandon Miles, Business Relations Manager introduced Mike Pruett, Representative for Segale <br />Properties. <br />Mike Pruett gave a PowerPoint presentation on the background and the current status of Tukwila South <br />Development including the status of all the permits and approvals that have been granted by various <br />organizations and agencies. Mr. Pruett addressed several questions from the PC. The PC thanked Mr. <br />Pruett for the presentation. <br />
