City of Tukwila <br />Allan Ekberg, IMlayor <br />Department of Community Development - .Jack Pace, Director <br />CITY OF TUKWILA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION (PC) <br />WORK SESSION AND PUBLIC HEARING <br />MINUTES <br />Date: February 25, 2021 <br />Time: 6:30 PM <br />Location: Virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams <br />Present: Chair Louise Strander; Vice Chair Karen Simmons; Commissioners Dennis Martinez, Sharon <br />Mann, Dixie Stark, and Andrea Reay <br />Staff: Department of Community Development (DCD) Director Jack Pace; DCD Deputy Director <br />Minnie Dhaliwal; Senior Planner Max Baker; Senior Planner Jaimie Reavis; Business Relations <br />Manager Brandon Miles; and Planning Commission Secretary Wynetta Bivens <br />Agenda <br />Items: <br />Work Session and Public Hearing. <br />Protocols: Minnie Dhaliwal, Deputy Director, Department of Community Development went over the <br />virtual meeting protocols. <br />Adopt Commissioner Martinez moved to adopt the 1/28/20 minutes as written. <br />Minutes: Commissioner Mann seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />Chair Strander called the work session to order for: <br />CASE NUMBER: L19-0115 <br />PURPOSE: Segale Properties LLC, the applicant, requests amendments to Title 18, Zoning <br />Code of the Tukwila Municipal Code (TMC) to set standards for residential uses. <br />The proposed amendments are to adopt development standards and guidelines for <br />residential uses in all of Tukwila South; these would apply to all lands and <br />underlying zoning within the TSO district, including replacing those adopted in <br />2018 for the underlying LDR zone. <br />LOCATION: Properties within Tukwila South Overlay District <br />Max Baker, Senior Planner, Department of Community Development gave an overview of the project. <br />He provided history on the development standards and design guidelines, as well as gave explanation on the <br />current proposal and the intent of the development standards and design guidelines, and the difference between <br />them. Next steps, the public hearing will be held on the proposed project on March 18 followed by deliberations <br />on March 25th for the Commission to make their recommendation to be forwarded to the City Council for their <br />review and decision. <br />Mike Pruett, for the applicant provided some clarifying comments on the history of the project and intent for the <br />current proposal.
