TUKWILA OFFICE OF HUMAN SERVICES <br />REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS <br />Minor Home Repair Program <br />Due by 5:00 p.m. March 15, 2012 <br />The Cities of Tukwila, SeaTac, Des Moines, Covington, and Pacific seek statements of <br />qualifications for a Lead Base Paint certified contractor for a minor home repair program <br />targeting low and moderate income, city homeowners in 2012. Contractor will be <br />responsible for: <br />1) Receiving referrals for jobs, assessing and documenting the amount of lead based paint <br />disturbance for proposed jobs in homes older than 1978, <br />2) Assessing the scope of work to be completed, and making recommendations to <br />implement the job with city fiends or refer the job to the King County Housing Repair <br />program, <br />3) Having the ability to coordinate clearance and provide clearance test results to King <br />County Housing and Community Development staff, as well as home repair managers <br />from the respective cities, <br />4) Billing the City in which the evaluation was completed on a per job basis. <br />The program is frinded through Federal Community Development Block Grant dollars. <br />Contractor will need to be licensed with the State of Washington, Certified as a Lead <br />Based Paint inspector, and familiar with basics of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, <br />protective /preventative measures to keep a house, its systems and grounds in working <br />order. The contractor must carry adequate liability insurance consistent with Tukwila's <br />contract requirements. <br />Statements of qualifications must be limited to two pages and include description of <br />experience in identified activities. They must have excellent communication skills and be <br />detail oriented. If not already certified, contractor must be willing to obtain specific <br />certification as recommended by King County Housing and Community Development. <br />Questions can be directed to the Human Services Office at 206 433 -7180.
