Solid Waste Contract Update <br />Staff updated the Committee on the status and activities associated with the solid waste <br />contract process. <br />Item for follow-up: <br />Return with results of online survey. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Discussion only. <br />F. Allentown Neighborhood Project Update <br />Staff provided an update on the status of neighborhood projects, including the <br />Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process for BNSF alternative access routes, the 42nd <br />Avenue South Bridge replacement project, neighborhood outreach, and responses to public <br />and Council comments made in January. <br />Items for follow-up: <br />• Provide information on traffic enforcement in Allentown, including emphasis patrols, <br />warnings, tickets, and congestion mitigation. <br />• Provide BNSF vendor brochure regarding emergency routes. <br />• Engage with community prior to painting barriers at S. 124th intersection. <br />• Make December bridge closure traffic (crash/speed) data available to the public. <br />• Provide history of the placement of the jersey barriers in the Foster Point <br />neighborhood. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Forward to January 24, 2022 Committee of the Whole. <br />II. Miscellaneous <br />Chair Kruller mentioned that reopening options for the 42nd Avenue South Bridge will be presented <br />to the Council for discussion at the January 24, 2022 Committee of the Whole. Options to be <br />considered include reopening to 2 -way traffic, reopening to 1 -way traffic, or reopening to <br />pedestrians/bicyclists. <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:13 p.m. <br />Committee Chair Approval <br />Minutes by LH <br />
