Project Name: Public Hearing Design Review and SEPA Environmental Review for the Tukwila Home2 Suites. Dan Balmelli of Barghausen Consulting Engineers is the contact for development of a new 139 -room, 4- story hotel on a 2.47 acre site along with associated clearing and grading, paved parking, landscaping, and site design. The project is located at 300 Upland Drive between Upland Drive and Minkler Boulevard tax parcel #8836500030. The site is currently a vacant lot. Permits applied for include: L12 -004, Public Hearing Design Review and E12 -002, SEPA Environmental Review. FILES AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC REVIEW The application is available for review at the City of Tukwila, Department of Community Development (DCD), located at 6300 Southcenter Bled #100. OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT Your written comments on the project are requested. They must be delivered to DCD within fourteen days of this notice to the address above or postmarked no later than 5:00 P.M., March 21, 2012. Tukwila has reviewed the project for probable adverse environmental impacts and expects to issue a determination of non significance (DNS). The optional DNS process in WAC 197 -11 -355 is being used. There will be a single integrated comment period for the notice of application and likely threshold determination so this may be your only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the project. If timely comments do not identify probable significant adverse impacts that were not considered by the anticipated determination the DNS will be issued without a second comment period. Opportunity for additional oral and written public comments on the design review will be provided at a public hearing before the Board of Architectural Review on April 26 at 6:30pm. A decision related to Design Review is made by the Board of Architectural Review and may be appealed to the Tukwila City Council.
