City of Tukwila <br />City Council Transportation & Infrastructure Services Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 18, 2022 5:30 p.m. - Hybrid Meeting; Duwamish Conference Room & MS Teams <br />Councilmembers Present: Kate Kruller, Chair; Mohamed Abdi, Tosh Sharp <br />Staff Present: David Cline, Hari Ponnekanti, Griffin Lerner, Brittany Robinson, Cyndy <br />Knighton, Sherry Edquid, Vicky Carlsen, Laurel Humphrey <br />Guests: Justine Kim & Matt Strutynski, Shiels Obletz Johnson <br />Chair Kruller called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />I. BUSINESS AGENDA <br />A. Public Works Shops Phase 2 Introduction <br />Staff briefed the Committee on a potential funding plan and next steps for Phase 2 of the Public <br />Works Shops, which would develop the easter parcel where the UPS site currently resides. <br />Item(s) for follow-up: <br />• Provide Councilmembers Abdi and Sharp with background on the Fleet & Facilities Project <br />Master Plan. <br />• Provide copy of city's letter to Department of Ecology explaining environmental benefits <br />of project. <br />• Provide additional information on commitment to environmentally friendly building <br />standards. <br />• Consider site plans that place buildings further from shoreline. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Discussion only. <br />B. Introduction to Levees <br />Staff provided an overview of levees in the city and an introduction to the Tukwila 205 Levee <br />Certification Project. <br />Item(s) for follow-up: <br />• Provide additional information about Gunter Levee and development in the area. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Discussion only. <br />C. Consultant Agreement: Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of an agreement with Fehr & Peers in the amount of <br />$396,993.43 to provide transportation modeling services for the update of the Transportation <br />Element of the Comprehensive Plan. <br />
