Cit of Tukwlla <br />Po/ice Department <br />COPCAB Minutes <br />January 14, 2021 <br />6:30pm — 8:OOpm <br />Virtual Meeting Via Microsoft Teams <br />253-292-9750 <br />Conference ID: 526157821# <br />Allen Ekberg, Mayor <br />Eric Dreyer, Interim Chief of Police <br />Members present: Tosh Sharp, Jan Bolerjack, John Lindsey, Jun Castillo, Roger Arnold <br />Staff present: Interim Chief Eric Dreyer <br />Guest: Cynthia Delostrinos, Katrina Dohn <br />• Minutes for December 10, 2020 meeting were approved <br />• Chief's update: <br />o Staffing: Short 17 people due to light duty, admin leave, vacancies, background, eight frozen <br />position. <br />o Discussed department numbers, response time is on par or not increased due to staff shortages. <br />o Officer involved shooting, officers on admin leave. <br />o If department discovers officers involved in Capitol incident, they will be investigated and put on <br />leave. <br />o Officer involved in accidental discharge of weapon during traffic stop, training will be implemented. <br />Suspect taken into custody and given medical care. <br />• Community survey: <br />o Survey was discussed and Chief went over the questions. Chief to provide a link to COPCAB <br />members to review and to go live with survey. <br />o Discussion involved duration that survey should be out. Identifying the purpose or goal of survey <br />results. <br />o Discussed on to make sure results are consistent and transparent <br />o Asked if survey would track participants IP, asked if people can take survey multiple times.
