That change was approved. <br />This led to a question about if extra patrol has been assigned to the bridge. There is concern about the river <br />bank and weight limits. Officers have to have commercial vehicle enforcement certification, which is a 2 -week <br />course. They cannot write tickets for trucks being overweight now. <br />Chief's Update: <br />✓ The staffing crisis continues, with 58 of 77 positions being available. Others are on light duty or in <br />academy. 3 are on administrative leave and 1 is on military deployment. In non-commissioned <br />positions, 21 of 23 are available, with there being 1 vacancy and 1 frozen position. <br />✓ Overtime question: January had the highest overtime rate in the last year. However, they still came in <br />under budget because the vacancies gave them the ability to absorb the overtime. <br />✓ Video is being made about the homelessness encampments and related issues throughout the city. That <br />will be released soon. <br />✓ SPIDR Tech — has template for general questions, can add our own as well <br />✓ Officer Recognitions <br />Officer of the Year — Sgt. Zach Anderson <br />Officer of the Quarter — Officer Ryan McAdory <br />Ambra Durbin — records specialist <br />30 Years of Service — Officer Hines <br />✓ Morale — Morale is a bit better. The proposed legislation that would fix some of the problems has <br />helped. <br />Word on the Street: <br />✓ Get the word out to people that if they see graffiti on city property, to report it and it will be <br />taken care of immediately.
