City of Tukwila <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />Department of Community Development - Jack Pace, Director <br />CITY OF TUKWILA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION (PC) <br />MINUTES <br />Date: February 24, 2022 <br />Time: 6:30 PM <br />Location: Virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams <br />Chair Simmons called the meeting to order. <br />Present: Chair Karen Simmons; Vice -Chair Andrea Reay, Commissioners Louise Strander, <br />Dennis Martinez, Sharon Mann, Apneet Sidhu, and Alexandria Teague <br />Staff: Nora Gierloff, Director, Department of Community Development (DCD); Nancy <br />Eklund, Long Range Planning Manager; Joel Bush, Chief Technology Officer; and <br />Wynetta Bivens, Planning Commission (PC) Secretary <br />Adopt <br />Minutes: Commissioner Teague moved to adopt the 1/27/22 minutes. Commissioner Mann <br />seconded the motion. Commissioner Martinez was absent on 1/27/22 and abstained <br />from voting. Motion passed. <br />Director Gierloff introduced the presenter, Ivan Miller. <br />Ivan Miller, Countywide Planning, King County Executive Department, gave a presentation on <br />Growth Management Planning Council (GMPC) and addressed several questions from the PC. <br />Commissioner Reay requested that Mr. Miller send the PC a copy of the King County Equity Impact <br />Tool. <br />Director Gierloff also addressed several questions from the PC. <br />Commissioner Mann requested that staff provide the PC with the amount of government owned <br />housing in Tukwila. <br />DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br />- Director Gierloff provided an update on upcoming PC agenda items. <br />Adjourned: 7:45 p.m. <br />Submitted by: Wynetta Bivens <br />Planning Commission Secretary <br />Adopted: 4/28/22 <br />Tukwila City Hall • 6200 Southcenter Boulevard = Tukwila, WA 98188 • 206-433-1800 • Website: TukwilaWA.gov <br />
