Approval of Agenda (3 Minutes) <br />IV. Approval of Minutes, September 5, 2019 <br />Minutes were approved <br />V. Business Items <br />• Stacey Hansen from Human Services provided an overview of programs & <br />services for Tukwila residents only. The Commission was informed of the <br />2019- 2020 funded programs as it relates to wellness (physical, behavioral, <br />dental, well-being), housing, food security and support for independence. In <br />total, Human Services funded 34 programs. <br />• Additional information was provided on the temporary homeless <br />encampments (Tent City 3). 50 campers including 1 family will stay from <br />September 7 through December 2, 2019. Encampments rotate between various <br />host properties and have managers and a code of conduct for residents. <br />• The State of Washington has authorized religious organizations to host <br />temporary encampments and limits a local governments ability to regulate <br />encampments. (RCW 36.01.290) for counties, (35A.21.360) for code cities, <br />and (35.21.915) for other cities and towns. <br />
