• Chief Linton provided an overview of the department's response to the <br />"eight can't wait" effort. Commissioners asked questions about the <br />department's efforts, including better engagement with youth and the <br />importance of relationship building in the community. <br />• Rachel Bianchi, Deputy City Administrator shared the cities COVID-19 <br />response and impacts as it relates to outreach efforts to provide food, utility, <br />and small business assistance. Rachel provided city updates regarding <br />furlough of staff, hiring freeze and budget impacts due to the coronavirus <br />pandemic. <br />• Niesha Fort -Brooks, Community Engagement Manager provided a brief <br />update on the Equity Policy Implementation Committee (EPIC) <br />subcommittee initiative process and introduced EPIC members Trish <br />Kinlow, Court Administrator and Laurel Humphry, Council Analyst to inform <br />commissioners with a high level overview of EPICS four initiatives: Human <br />Resource Policy, Hiring Policy Changes, Consistent Training, Equity Toolkit <br />and Outreach Guide. <br />• Commissioners voted and approved the appointment of the Equity and <br />Social Justice's Commission's newly appointed co-chairs, Aaron Draganov <br />and Gabriela Quintana. <br />• August Agenda - planning <br />• Legislation target overview <br />• Community feedback and knowledge <br />VI Miscellaneous <br />VII Adjournment 7:06 p.m. <br />
