City of Tukwila <br />City Council Planning & Community Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 8, 2024,5:30 p.m. - Hybrid Meeting; Hazelnut Conference Room & MS Teams <br />Councilmembers Present: Dennis Martinez, Chair; Tosh Sharp, Armen Papyan <br />Staff Present: Marty Wine, Nora Gierloff <br />Chair Martinez called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />BUSINESS AGENDA <br />A. Zoning Code - Tiny Home Villages and Emergency Housing <br />Staff briefed the committee on proposed changes to the Zoning Code that would address <br />Tiny Home Villages and Emergency Housing, and requested approval to forward to the <br />Planning Commission for a hearing and recommendation. <br />Item(s) for follow-up: <br />• Provide information on the numbers of shelters, tiny house villages and other housing <br />solutions in the region. <br />• Forward proposal to Planning Commission that includes: a correlation with the <br />maximum number of units and the size of the site; allowing a fenced site with a <br />controlled entrance in the absence of an internal hallway; retaining the half -mile <br />separation requirement; and regulating facility size by number of units rather than <br />occupants. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Forward to Planning Commission. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:44 p.m. <br />DR Committee Chair Approval <br />
