Tukwila Equity and Social Justice Commission <br />City of Tukwila — City Hall <br />6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila, WA 98188 <br />Jo invited the Commissioners to support Juneteenth and World Refugee Day events and <br />provided an update on the May 18 Board & Commission Equity Training. Commissioners <br />discussed the need for nametags, a banner, print materials, and giveaway items. <br />On behalf of ESJC, Kathy will meet with Nancy Eklund and Neil Tabor to provide input <br />into their Comprehensive Plan presentation at the June meeting. <br />2024 Priority <br />Relationship -building in the community: <br />Learn What is Happening in the Community <br />Amplify ESJC's Community Presense <br />Awareness, Forums, Trainings: <br />Racial Restrictive Covenants <br />Comprehensive Plan Elements <br />In Partnership with EPIC, Enforce Equity Policies: <br />Prioritize Local Hires <br />Drill Into the Equity Toolkit <br />Board & Commissions: <br />Equitable Recruitment <br />Equity Policy Accountability <br />VI Miscellaneous <br />• EPIC Report: Jo provided an update on the work of a cross departmental project team <br />that is operationalizing and providing feedback on the racial equity toolkit. The focus <br />area is language access and project team members have interviewed colleagues and <br />currently scheduling meetings with community leaders. <br />VII Adjournment <br />
