Tukwila Equity and Social Justice Commission <br />City of Tukwila — City Hall <br />6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila, WA 98188 <br />The Commissioners reviewed the budget balance and requested a list of expenditures to <br />approve for the remainder of 2024 to include an allocation to Still Waters Family <br />Services for TSD student snack packs, 'I Heart Tukwila' Magnets for outreach, <br />Commissioner Badges, and translation/interpretation needs. <br />• 2024 ESJC Workplan Tasks and Updates <br />Relationship -building in the community: Commissioners discussed tabling at local <br />coffeehouses, HealthPoint Clinics, Job Fairs, and Parks & Recreation programs. <br />Awareness, Forums, Trainings: Representatives of the Washington State Housing <br />Finance Commission to discuss initiatives related to Racial Restrictive Covenants will <br />attend the next meeting. <br />In Partnership with EPIC, Enforce Equity Policies: Jo provided an update on the Racial <br />Equity Toolkit Project Team and will present findings at the August Meeting. <br />Board & Commissions: At the May 18 Equity training, participants expressed interest in <br />resuming socials to build relationships between commissions and boards. <br />2024 Priority <br />Relationship -building in the community: <br />Learn What is Happening in the Community <br />Amplify ESJC's Community Presense <br />Awareness, Forums, Trainings: <br />Racial Restrictive Covenants <br />Comprehensive Plan Elements <br />In Partnership with EPIC, Enforce Equity Policies:: <br />Prioritize Local Hires <br />Drill Into the Equity Toolkit <br />Board & Commissions: <br />Equitable Recruitment <br />Equity Policy Accountability <br />VI Miscellaneous <br />• None <br />VII Adjournment <br />
