{ĻƓƷʹ Thursday, June 27, 2024 1:40:35 PM
ƚʹ Nora Gierloff <Nora.Gierloff@TukwilaWA.gov>; Mayor <Mayor@TukwilaWA.gov>
{ǒĬƆĻĭƷʹ Planning commission

I regret that I cannot attend the Planning Commission this evening. I do want to make my
voice heard regarding the Tiny Homes. As you know we have had 20 tiny homes since
December of 22. They are always full and well managed by the Low Income Housing
Institute (LiHi). Our partnership with them is strong and they have fit into the other work on
campus well. They have graciously shared their shower/toilet trailer with the other
residents on site but are run separately from the encampment.

An additional set of homes (as many as possible) will help alleviate the need for tents and
provide more stable, comfortable living conditions. It will also improve hygiene and
cleanliness of the property.

The Community Council (neighborhood members) that relate to the village and meet
monthly have been very favorable regarding the village. Only concerns expressed have
been about turnover of LiHi staff.

Please allow LiHi to place more homes on the Riverton Park property so that more of the
Tukwila unhoused community can be in safe, secure housing.

Thanks,

Rev. Jan
Riverton Park UMC
