City of Tukwila <br />City Council Planning & Community Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 14, 2025, 5:30 p.m. - Hybrid Meeting; City Council Conference Room & MS Teams <br />Councilmembers Present: Hannah Hedrick, Chair; Jovita McConnell, Verna Seal <br />Staff Present: Nora Gierloff, Neil Tabor, Nancy Eklund, Pete Mayer, Brandon Miles <br />Chair Hedrick called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />BUSINESS AGENDA <br />Committee members agreed to allow Jessica Clawson to speak on item A. <br />A. Ordinance: Townhouse Allowances in Tukwila Urban Center <br />Staff is seeking approval of an ordinance that would remove townhouses as a permitted use <br />in the Tukwila Urban Center. <br />Item(s) for follow-up: <br />Revisit ordinance if Regional Growth Center designation becomes at risk. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Do not forward. <br />B. Ordinance: Amending Residential Conversions Code <br />Staff is seeking approval of a new code section addressing "Residential Conversions" that <br />would bring the city into compliance with upcoming changes in state law and designate an <br />area for preservation of ground floor commercial space. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Unanimous approval.
