Through an application <br />process a cohort was selected based on their connection to Tukwila and interest in <br />making positive changes. Participants learn how local government works, share their <br />experiences, and develop skills for community involvement. This is the first year the <br />program is bilingual - offered in English with Spanish interpretation. <br />• Youth Commissioner Application <br />Hamdi Diriye, a high school junior, applied for the youth position and will be <br />recommended to the Mayor for appointment. Commissioners reviewed Hamdi's <br />responses to the Board & Commission Application. <br />
