BUSINESS AGENDA <br />A. Ordinance - Criminal Justice Sales Tax <br />Staff is recommending passage of an ordinance that would impose a sales tax increase of one - <br />tenth of one percent pursuant to House Bill 2015, aiming to enhance public safety resources. <br />To collect the tax, cities must also meet eligibility requirements for a state -funded grant. <br />Committee members discussed the impacts to low-income residents and the need for <br />transparency. Chair Martinez stated for the record he would want revenues directed <br />exclusively to law enforcement personnel and benefits. <br />Item(s) for follow-up: <br />• Provide list of new taxes imposed in 2025 that impact residents. <br />Committee Recommendation: <br />Unanimous approval. Forward to November 24, 2025 Committee of the Whole. <br />B.
