Council. <br />1. Three members representing the city, one of whom shall be a member of the Tukwila City <br />2. Three members employed by or a member of a school board of a school district in the city. <br />3. Three community members, two of whom may be representatives of the business community. <br />D. Terms of Appointment. Members of the Commission shall be appointed to serve one year terms. <br />E. Staffing. Staffing shall be provided by cooperative agreement between the Tukwila School District <br />and the City of Tukwila. <br />F. Officers, Meeting Procedures, Quorum. <br />1. Members of the Commission shall meet and organize by electing, from their membership, a chair <br />person and a vice- chair. <br />2. The chair person shall preside at all meetings. In the absence of the chair person, the vice -chair <br />shall chair the meeting. If neither the chair nor the vice -chair is present, a member chosen by agreement of <br />the attending members, shall act as chair person. <br />3. The Commission shall choose its own meeting dates and times, and shall adopt operating rules of <br />procedure. <br />4. The Commission shall keep the City of Tukwila and the Tukwila School District apprised of its <br />activities and recommendations through periodic reports. <br />5. A majority of the appointed members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Section 2. This ordinance shall be reviewed one year after its passage to ensure it meets the needs of <br />fulfilling its purpose for the City, school districts, and citizens of Tukwila. <br />Section 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this <br />ordinance or its application to any person or situation should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional for any <br />reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or <br />constitutionality of the remaining portions of this ordinance or its application to any other person or situation. <br />Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official <br />newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force and effect five (5) days after passage and <br />publication as provided by law. <br />PASSED BY THS CITY CO CIL THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a Regular Meeting <br />thereof this o2 ti day of 1998. <br />Jolt W.
