Dear Al, In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note the following items: 1. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "All doors in or leading to exits shall be maintained openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort at all times when the building or area served thereby is occupied." 2, Per UFC Sec. 10.113, "At every required exit doorway, and wherever otherwise required to clearly indicate the direction of egress, an exit sign with letters at least 6 inches high and readily distinguishable shall be maintained." 3. Although not required by Code, it is strongly suggested that an approved automatic fire- sprinkler system be installed throughout the building. . Maintain the automatic extinguishing system for all grill, griddle and deep -fat frying areas. 5. Maintain portable fire extinguisher coverage per NFPA #10. 6. All interior wall covering materials shall be fire - resistive or shall be treated to be fire- resistive, so as to result in a Flame- Spread Rating of at least Class III (Class II for Exit- ways). A certificate of Flame- Spread Rating is required to be delivered to the Fire Department. Please include these comments in your review of the above mentioned roject.
