VanDrsen, Mayor My inspection of your garage foundation on November 14, 1990, resulted in the following conclusions: 1. Rear section of slab was badly damaged. This should be replaced. 2. The foundation wall was cracked in two places on the West and North sides. These cracks may be detrimental to the walls . ability to retain soil load under the slab. Two possible options may be to remove and replace foundation walls or fill around outside of foundation to eliminate unbalanced loading. Rebuilding of the foundation will require engineering. I am basing this decision on the following: 1. All rubble will be removed by a licensed contractor and disposed of in a legal manner. 2. Any electrical power supply wiring that leads to the garage will be disconnected at the source. 3. That there was no plumbing or gas lines to this building prior to the fire. You have indicated that you plan to keep the existing foundation in place and build another garage on it. Please be advised that any future building construction will require a building permit prior to starting work and all new construction will be requited to meet the current codes. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once.
