Heater shall be de- signed, assembled, wired and factory- tested, with a capacity of CFM, against an external static pressure of Heater shall be capable of providing __ —,000 BTU /HR input in order to maintain a discharge -air temperature of °F , with a H P blower motor. The exterior of the cabinet shall be additionally protected with a heavy duty alkyd enamel coating with a minimum thickness of 4 mills for added durability and weather protection. Blower The heater shall be fabricated with the blower downstream of the burner to ensure a constant volume of discharge air, regardless of the inlet -air temperature. The heater cabinet shall be sized to contain the entire high -fire zone of the burner within the heater cabinet while maintaining low alr temperatures over the blower, motor or drives. The blower shall be a heavy duty double- width, double -inlet forwardly curved centrifugal -type blower, dynamically balanced with pillow -block bearings and a rugged solid -steel shaft, ground smooth for extended life and durability. Drives The heater shall be supplied with a factory- installed heavy duty, high- efficiency motor and drive package, designed with its maximum operating speed not exceeding 75% of its first critical speed of the fan shaft. The bearings are to be of the heavy duty, prelubricated type, with the drives being sized for a capacity of 25% or greater than motor horsepower for durability and extended life. All motors are to be factory- mounted to a heavy duty adjustable base for belt tensioning. The driven sheave is to be of the fixed -pitch type for durability and extended life. The driver sheave is to be of the variable -pitch design for specific field requirements. All sheaves shall be heavy duty and dynamically balanced to provide smooth, vibration -free perfor- mance. Damper shall be provided with heavy duty interlocking blades to reduce air leakage during shut- down period. Blade construction shall be such as to guarantee absence of perceptible vibration at design air velocity. Damper blades shall be mounted on friction free nylon pivots. Rainhood The heater shall be furnished with a heavy duty factory- fabricated inlet rainhood. The rainhood shall be constructed of minimal 20 -gauge galvanized steel with an integral frame to ensure durability. The rainhood shall be additionally protected with a weatherproof, 4 -mil alkyd enamel for extended life and rust resistance. The rainhood shall be additionally furnished with a factory- fabricated fresh -air filtration section. The filter section shall be constructed entirely of minimum 20 -gauge coated steel with heavy duty slide racks for filter support. The one (1) inch - thick mesh filters shall have aluminum frames, with the media to be layers of slit and expanded aluminum, varying in pattern to obtain maximum depth loading. Inlet Filter Section The heater shall be furnished with a heavy duty factory- fabricated V -bank inlet filter section. The filter section shall be constructed of minimal 20 -gauge galvanized steel and have a removable access door for servicing and replacing the filters. The filter section shall be additionally protected with a weather- proof, 4 -mil alkyd enamel for extended life and rust resistance. All filters shall be two (2) inches deep, medium - efficiency, pleated media, disposable -type. The filter media shall be self - extinguishing and made of non -woven cotton and synthetic fibers. Low Temperature Limit Switch The heater shall be additionally furnished with a low- tempera- ture limit switch to lock out the entire heater should the gas supply to the heater be interrupted for a significant amount of time. The low- temperature limit switch shall incorporate an automatic resetting should this occur. BYPASS ECONOMIZER OPTION The heater shall be equipped with a return -air bypass to allow up to 80% of the total air volume of the fan to be from the building space. The burner chamber shall use only fresh outdoor air. The return -air damper shall respond to building pressure to provide as much building air as needed to maintain the selected pressure In the treated space. All building air used by the heater will be mixed with the tempered air downstream of the combus- tion chamber but upstream of the temperature- sensing system for maximum economy. Per the Uniform Building Code and /or Uniform Mechanical Code, every permit issued by the Building Official under the provision of this code shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.3) (UFC Standard 10 -1) Clear access to fire extinguishers is required at all times. They may not be hidden or obstructed. Dry chemical extinguishers rated at least 2A 20B:C are required to be located within 30 feet of the location where hot work is in progress and shall be accessible without climbing stairs or ladders. (UFC 4901.9) Portable fire extinguishers shall be securely installed on the hanger or in the bracket supplied, placed in cabinets or wall recesses. The hanger or bracket shall be securely and properly anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
