Gentlemen:
Our quotation for reroofing and related sheet metal on the subject property
is as follows.
Roof Surface Preparation:
Remove and, set aside all existing. sheet metal perimeter coping for
reuse.
Remove and dispose of all existing expansion joints.
Reroof Specification:
Includes a 3 ply fiberglass roof system by Owens- Corning Fiberglas.
This system will be installed as. follows-
Mechanically fasten 1 .ply of•.'Owens- Corning Fiberglas 28 lb. .fiber
glass base sheet. Base,:she0'is• to_:b.e: °fastened with a :Berryfast

applied at the rate of 3' gallons per 100 square feet. Interply
moppings will consist •of 30 •lbs. per 100 square feet between each
ply for a total of 60 lbs. per 100 square feet. All base and ply
sheets will be carried to the top of the cant edge at the perimeters.

There will be 1 additional ply of ,Perma Ply R fiberglass ply sheet
and 1 additional coritinuo"us'.layer of hot asphalt installed at the
perimeter, 6 feet wide. This additional roofing is installed to slow
down deterioration of the roofing system in areas where water has
been ponding.
There will be an additional ply of 45 lb. fiberglass smooth surface
cap sheet installed at the perimeters for reinforcement at these
points. This material is also set in hot asphalt.
Raise all mechanical equipments, such that all roofing may run
continuously under all such ;;equipment.
Reset all mechanical equipment.
Reinstall all metal edging.
Furnish and install new expansion joints where applicable.
Furnish and install all new stainless steel scuppers.
Total price $128,472.00, plus 7.9% sales tax.

Dear Mr. Hayes:
Pursuant to your request, we have reviewed the load
capacity of the roof structure of the subject warehouse relative to
the added Toad that would result from the installation of a new 3 -ply
felt and tar built -up roof over the existing roofing material. Our
review was based on an analysis of the roof structure for the
original structure as shown on drawings prepared by Manson Bennett &
Associates, Architect for the construction of the building in 1974.
The configuration of the building is rectangular with
exterior dimensions of 130' -O" x 737'=0" with the long dimension
oriented on the north /south. axis. The exterior walls of the
structure are tilt -up concrete and the roof structural system is wood
and consists of Berkley Panels, sawn wood purlins and glued laminated
(glu- lam) beams. '. The Berkley Panels - consist of 1 /2" or 5/8" thick
plywood over 2x4 joists spaced at 24" center to center that span
8' -0" between 4x16 sawn purlins that are supported on the glu -lam
beams which
are spaced at 24' -6 3/4" center
o center in .the..:
north /south direction of the building. The .glu -larn beams are in a
link span configuration with three equal spans of 43' -4 ".
Our review analysis was :based on the assumption of a total
dead load of :1 1 Ibs. /sq.ft. and a live load of 25 .Ibs /sq.ft. The
dead load is the actual weight of the existing roof system, including
roofing, sprinklers and lights and an additional load of 1.5
Ibs. /sq.ft. for the new roofing. The analysis indicates that the
components of the roof system will support the added Toad within the
allowable stress levels as specified in the 1970 Uniform Building
Code.
