July 17, 1987
This letter is to request a review and approval of the sign
application for The Sound Authority, located at 17304 Southcenter
Parkway.
Sec. 10.32 140 states "Each business shall be permitted one
exposed building face mounted sign" according to Table 1.
We are allowed 21.25 square feet of signage (17' x 25 =425
x.05 - 21.25). Beneath Table I the code continues, "the permitted
sign areas provided in Table 1 may be increased no more than
fifty . percent for each doubling of the required minimum set-
back distance for the wall upon which a particular sign is to
be placed."
The Sound Authority is zoned CM requiring a 50 foot set._back and
they set back 155 feet. We are seeking approval to increase their
signage 79 percent above Table I. This would increase the square
footage from 21.25 to 38 square feet. According to the code, the
increase allowed by The Sound Authority would give them a 42.56
square foot sign.
Please review and approve the proposed signage as presented.
