Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. The tot.al number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. rt, or area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "Ali Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry chemica.l. type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or. less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1) (UFC 10.301b) Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinents, or set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6 .6) , and shall be ,installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 1't. above the floor.. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6) (UFC 10.301) 2. Exi.t doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel when serving an occupant load of 50 or more. Drawings shall first be approved by the Washington Surveying k Rating Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. All electrical work and equipment shall conform strictly to the standards of the National Electrical Code. (NFPA 70) (UFC 10.104) All electrical wiring is to be inspected by the State Electrical Inspector, Washington State Department of Labor &.industries. (UGC 10.104) 5. Al.t required occupancy separations, area separation walls, and draft -stop partitions shall be maintained and shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached, penetrated, removed or improperly installed. (UFC 10.401) All .interior wa.l:L covering materials shall be fire-resistive or shall be treated to be fire - resistive, so as to result in a flame- spread rating as required by UFC Appendix VI -C tables 42A and 42B.
