The paint spray room will be classified as an E 2 occupancy and thus be separated from the F 2 occupancy by a one -hour separation.. This has been accomplished, however, the egress door must swing in the direction of egress. A sliding door does not rate as an approved exit. 2. Exiting arrangements are not in accord with Chapter 33. The . occupant load for section A = 485 and would require two exits but there can be no travel distance in excess of 200 feet in a sprinklered building. Therefore, additional exits must be installed to satisfy this condition. In section B this same condition exists. 3. Unprotected steel columns are not permitted in a one -hour building. .If the designer would wish to have it classified as a type VIII -N building the columns could remain exposed. 4. All lavatories throughout the building are to have floors and walls constructed as per Section 1711. Other code requirements appear to have been met.
