1: ** *PLUMBING AND GAS PIPING * **
2: No changes shall be made to applicable plans and specifications unless prior approval is obtained from the Tukwila
Building Division.
3: All permits, inspection records and applicable plans shall be maintained at the job and available to the plumbing
inspector.
4: All plumbing and gas piping systems shall be installed in compliance with the Uniform Plumbing Code and the Fuel Gas
Code.
5: No portion of any plumbing system or gas piping shall be concealed until inspected and approved.
6: All plumbing and gas piping systems shall be tested and approved as required by the Plumbing Code and Fuel Gas Code.
Tests shall be conducted in the presence of the Plumbing Inspector. It shall be the duty of the holder of the permit to
make sure that the work will stand the test prescribed before giving notification that the work is ready for inspection.
7: No water, soil, or waste pipe shall be installed or permitted outside of a building or in an exterior wall unless,
adequate provision is made to protect such pipe from freezing. All hot and cold water pipes installed outside the
conditioned space shall be insulated to minimum R -3.
8: Plastic and copper piping running through framing members to within one (1) inch of the exposed framing shall be
protected by steel nail plates not less than 18 guage.
9: Piping through concrete or masonry walls shall not be subject to any load from building construction. No plumbing
piping shall be directly embedded in concrete or masonry.
10: All pipes penetrating floor /ceiling assemblies and fire - resistance rated walls or partitions shall be protected in
accordance with the requirements of the building code.
11: Piping in the ground shall be laid on a firm bed for its entire length. Trenches shall be backfilled in thin layers to
twelve inches above the top of the piping with clean earth, which shall not contain stones, boulders, cinderfill,
frozen earth, or construction debris.
12: The issuance of a permit or approval of plans and specifications shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an
approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of the Plumbing Code or Fuel Gas Code or any other ordinance of the
jurisdiction.

to possible revision by the Permit Center to comply with current fee schedules.
Expiration of Plan Review — Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitation.
Building and Mechanical Permit
The Building Official may grant one or more extensions of time for additional periods not exceeding 90 days each. The extension shall be
requested in writing and justifiable cause demonstrated. Section 105.3.2 International Building Code (current edition).
Plumbing Permit
The Building Official may grant one extension of time for an additional period not exceeding 180 days. The extension shall be requested
in writing and justifiable cause demonstrated. Section 103.4.3 Uniform Plumbing Code (current edition).

Scope
This material specification designates the requirements for ViegaPEX Ultra multi - layered hot and cold water distribution tubing. All
ViegaPEX tubing is copper tube size dimension (CTS), SDR -9 wall thickness and meets the requirements of ASTM F876 and F877.

SYSTEMS
Materials
All ViegaPEX Ultra tubing is manufactured from a cross - linkable high density polyethylene produced by grafting organo - silanes onto a
polyethylene base. A catalyst (accelerator) added to the cross - linkable polyethylene during extrusion initiates the cross - linking process.
Cross - linking is completed with hot water or steam (sauna). The multi - layered construction assures the customer that if the pipe is
exposed to UV light, its physical properties as well as its long term Chlorine /ORP resistance will be retained at the highest level in the
industry today. The exterior layer, also with superior Chlorine /ORP resistance, is provided in the colors black, red, white, and blue for
easy identification of hot and cold lines.
Marking and Certification
All ViegaPEX Ultra tubing is marked with the name Viega as the manufacturer, nominal size, plastic tubing material designation code
(PEX 1006), design pressure and temperature ratings, relevant ASTM standards, manufacturing date and production code,
as well as both the NSF -pw and the NSF CL- R/CL -TD stamps indicating third -party certification by NSF International for meeting and
exceeding performance and toxicological standards, as well as achieving the highest chlorine resistance rating in the PEX industry. NSF
conducts random onsite inspections of Viega manufacturing facilities and independently tests ViegaPEX Ultra tubing for
compliance with physical,, performance, and toxicological standards. ViegaPEX Ultra PEX is also certified to meet the Uniform Plumbing
Code, NSF U.P. Code, CSA (Canadian Standards Association) B137.5 (cNSFu.s,) the ICBO Evaluation Service, and HUD (Housing and
Urban Development).
Recommended Uses
ViegaPEX Ultra tubing is intended and recommended for use in hot and cold potable water distribution systems. Design temperature
and pressure ratings for ViegaPEX Ultra are 160 psi @ 73 °F and 100 psi @ 180 °F. ViegaPEX Ultra tubing can also be used in
"continously recirculating" plumbing systems at temperatures of up to 140 °F while still maintaining excellent chlorine resistance. For
information on the suitability for other hot and cold water applications not listed here, consult with your Viega representative.
Handling and Installation
ViegaPEX Ultra cross - linked polyethylene tubing is tough yet flexible. However, it is softer than metals and may be damaged by
abrasion or by objects with cutting edges. Use of these materials in hot and cold water distribution systems must be in accordance
with good plumbing practices, applicable code requirements, and current installation practices available from Viega. ViegaPEX Ultra
is manufactured to meet written national standards. Contact a Viega representative or the applicable code enforcement bureau for
information about approvals for specific applications.

This letter is in response to your written request for an extension to Permit Numbers M08 -159,
PG08 -167, D08 -307, and EL08 -667. The Building Official has reviewed your letter and
considered your request to extend the above referenced permits.
The City of Tukwila Building Division will be extending the expiration date an additional 90
days for permits M08 -159 and PG08 -167. Their new expiration dates are respectively September
24 and October 1, 2012.
Permits D08 -307 and EL08 -667 have not been extended. Building permit D08 -307 had a recent
inspection which automatically renewed it through December 23, 2012 (no extension is
required). Permit EL08 -667 expired prior to the request for extension and consequently cannot
be extended. In order for electrical work to continue a new permit application will need to be
submitted and a new permit issued.

under our mutual contract, we have been unable to start our project. I have terminated my
contract with Ted and I'm requesting the Plans and Permits be transferred to the name of
Dunaway Residence, the property owners (see termination agreement attached).
