The FSCS shall not override controls intended to protect against electrical overloads, personnel safety or prevent major system damage. The FSCS shall contain a building diagram that clearly indicates the type and location of all smoke control equipment and the building areas served by the smoke control system. Each multizone serves a specific building quadrant through all four building levels. Return /exhaust air is pulled from the buildings ceiling plenums through 2 exhaust fans located in the penthouse. Two new exhaust fans at 20,000 cfm each shall be installed on roof for atrium exhaust. Also, one new 20,000 cfm supply fan shall be installed on roof for atrium supply. Existing multizone supply and return /exhaust fans shall be modified with inlet guide vanes to support new smoke control pressurization sequences. New return exhaust dampers will be installed in return air grills at each floor level to enable floor pressurization. Likewise, modifications will be made to existing multizone discharge actuators for each zone to accomplish pressurization sequences as detailed below. Atrium Smoke Control: Upon signal from fire alarm system indicating fire in building atrium, or the atrium system is required to function in concert with the building system, the new atrium exhaust fans and supply fans shall be started to accomplish smoke removal. Existing Multizone AHU Control n Fire Model, Upon signal of fire in any part of the building, multizone AMU's shall be overridden to 100% OSA and 100% exhaust by opening OSA and exhaust dampers and closing return air dampers. New static pressure transmitters in supply and relief fan discharge shall control new fan inlet guide vanes to maintain a high limit static in ductwork. Misc. Exhaust Fans: During fire modes, misc. building exhaust fans shall be started or stopped by SCU to facilitate .pressurization modes as detailed above. Conduct demolition work in a manner that will minimize need for disruption of the owners normal operations. Provide minimum of 72 hours advance notice to the owners representative of demolition activities which will impact the owners normal operation. Some demolition work may have to be accomplished after store operational hours, coordinate demolition activities accordingly. 2) All exposed demolition work shall be conducted within the boundaries of the temporary construction barricades. See Architectural sheets for locations of temporary construction barricades. Above ceiling demolition work which extends beyond the limits of the temporary construction barricades shall be preformed above the existing ceiling. 3) Owner or Architect /Engineer assumes no responsibility for actual conditions of items or structures to be demolished. Conditions existing at time of commencement of contract will be maintained by owner insofar as practicable. 4) Selective reuse of demolished items may be allowed, these items are indicated on drawings. 5) Locate, identify, stub off and disconnect utility services that are not indicated to remain. Provide by -pass connections as necessary to maintain continuity of services to owner occupied areas of the building. To facilitate the instalaltion of new structural reinforcement, all indicated mechanical work shall be relocated. 2. Replace affected existing domestic piping (water and DWV) with new piping, hangers, and insulation as per specifications. 3. Remove and reinstall existing high velocity ductwork and provide new hangers and insualtion as per specification. 4. remove and reinstall existing heating ducts and provide new hangers and insulation as per specification. 5. Remove and reinstall existing wet pipe sprinkler system as per specifications and sprinkler notes. 6. New installation height shall be governed by installation of new structural members. 7. Maintain original configuration where possible, utilizing offsets or reductions in height of existing verticals to account for lowered branches and mains. 8. If additional material or fittings are required, match existing as close as possible. 9. If required: upgrade the plumbing, heating, or swamp gas extraction systems to meet Curren: codes, 10. Comply with all general notes regarding mechanical work and store operation. 11. Contractor shall test for the presence of flammable or toxic swamp gas prior to any work on the swamp gas extraction system. If detected, contractor shall provide a temporary extraction system capable of providing a safe working condition for both workmen and store personnel. 12. Inform Owner, Architect and Engineer of all test data and any provisions for temporary control of swamp gas.
