This is acceptable to me in that the demising wall is not required to be rated and the other space is unfinished. This is a non - bearing wall and only acts as a separation. The stability of the wall is satisfactory since these are 6" x 20 guage studs with attatchment to both floor and glu -lam beam above. I have requested that the gyp.bd. lap onto the glu -lam beam which will provide additional torsional resistance. Please modify your permit plans to reflect gyp.bd. on one side only. The total number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1) Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9), and shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 feet above the floor.
