Please also see the revised drawings associated with the revisions mentioned below. 1. The only way that we could add space to accommodate accessible toilet stalls is to remove one of the fixtures and a partition wall. This is not ideal, since it reduces the number of fixture available to the pool users. The total number of fixtures, however, still meets code requirements. These revisions are shown in the attached drawings. 2. Per WAC 246 - 260 -031, the designed average foot - candle Tight measurement across the pool surface is above the minimum 30 foot - candle requirement. Please reference the attached photometric Calculation Summary table on the Lighting Upgrade Drawing. The Lighting for both Emergency and non - Emergency lighting has been designed by a Lighting Engineer. The designed emergency egress pathway meets the minimum requirement of 1 foot - candle average and not less than .1 foot - candles. Please note the attached photometric Calculation Summary table on the Emergency Egress Lighting drawing. The design light levels were calculated using AGI32 - an industry accepted lighting design software that uses manufacturer - provided IES files. Exterior emergency egress lights are shown on the attached lighting plan. A Wikipedia description of the software can be found at: http : / /en.wikipedia.org /wiki /AGi32 There is also an extensive feature description available through Lighting Analysts (AGI32 manufacturer) here: http: / /Iightinganalysts .co.uk /PDF /AGi32_Brief Datasheet.pdf 3. The attached layout identifies those fixtures to be added to the emergency power circuit. 4. Please address the following comments in an itemized format with revised plans, specifications and /or other applicable documentation. (GENERAL NOTE) PLAN SUBMITTALS: (Min. size 11x17 to maximum size of 24x36; all sheets shall be the same size). (If applicable) Structural Drawings and structural calculation sheets shall be stamped and signed. 1. After further review and consultation with the Building Official, it has been determined that due to the extent of the alterations in the bathrooms, the bathrooms will need to meet current code requirements for accessibility. Please provide a revised plan that shows the required accessible features with associated measurements. This includes toilet facilities in addition to the changing rooms and lockers already noted as accessible. 2. Please see item number 11 of the Public Health approval letter that you provided in response to my first correction letter. These lighting level requirements may supersede the maximum wattage allowance allowed by the State Energy Code. The lighting budget submitted is proposing installation of approximately Y2 of the wattage allowed. I am concerned that the Health Department lighting requirements will not be met. Has the lighting plan been designed by a lighting engineer? Our inspectors will be measuring the required lighting levels with light meters. Also, emergency lighting for the egress must average one foot - candle and not less than .1 foot - candles at the floor level and will be tested with light meters as well. Six bug -eye emergency fixtures for a space this large may not be adequate. Was this designed by a lighting engineer? Please provide the method used to calculate the amounts of light needed to provide the foot - candle requirements for the pool surface, pool decks and emergency lighting. Note that the non - emergency egress lighting was not mentioned as I believe it will be superseded by the Public Health requirement. 3. Please show one exterior emergency egress light outside each exit to light the exterior landing. This code requirement was included in the first correction letter. 4. The original plans were full size and the plans provided in response to review memo #1 were half size. We will need full size plans but only the pages that have changes from the original plans submitted. Should there be questions concerning the above information please contact the Building Division at 206- 431 -3670. 20 November 2012 Re: Tukwila Building Division Dear Dave Larson, Senior Plan Examiner: • cir S NOV 2 G 2012 °ERMITOENTER McKinstry and its consultants have reviewed the Code Review comments issues on 22 October 2012 and offer the following responses.
