Office of the Mayor <br />City of Tukwila, Washington <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the future is, to a large measure, dependent on the good health of our <br />families; <br />WHEREAS, good health can be achieved in part through good dental habits learned <br />early and reinforced throughout life; <br />WHEREAS, tooth decay is among the most prevalent diseases in the world yet dental <br />advances of the last century have made it highly preventable; <br />WHEREAS, good dental health requires a personal commitment to effective hygiene, <br />good nutrition and regular dental care; <br />WHEREAS, parents and guardians are urged to help ensure that children brush and <br />floss their teeth carefully, visit a dentist for preventative checkups and cleanings, <br />and eat a well-balanced diet; <br />NOW THEREFORE, I, Allan Ekberg, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do hereby proclaim <br />the month of February, 2019: <br />National Children's Dental Health Month <br />in the City of Tukwila and encourage all community residents to join me in <br />recognizing the importance of good dental health. <br />Presented this fourth day of February, 2019. <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayo <br />
