Per the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, Uniform Plumbing Code and/or the National Electric Code, every permit issued by the Building Division under the provisions of these codes shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit has not begun within 180 days from the issuance date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work has begun for a period of 180 days. Your permit will expire on 2/21/2018. Based on the above, you are hereby advised to: 1) Call the City of Tukwila Inspection Request Line at 206-438-9350 to schedule for the next or fmal inspection. Each inspection creates a new 180 day period, provided the inspection shows progress. -or- 2) Submit a written request for permit extension to the Permit Center at least seven(7) days before it is due to expire. For your information I will be completing the work. The original installation Company Green City Heating and air Conditioning through a series of deceptive and devious actions disregarded my initial requests and foisted multiple code violations upon my property. Both their installer and the electrician they employed blatantly disregarded relevant codes. For your reference the management at Green City would ONLY address the initial incomplete written report of your inspectors, COMPLETELY ignoring my per -inspection written requests and my subsequent written requests referencing the relevant code violations that would be documented. Very quickly after my complaints and demands for correction Green City threatened me with a property lien and negative credit reporting. Within days of those threats I was visited by a Green City collection agency's service agent... Next would come credit collection calls and ultimately letters from collection agency's. I fended these improper and unauthorized actions off using multiple defense maneuvers including the City of Tukwila police department and prosecuting attorneys office. Next I was contacted by Green City's attorney who wrote threatening letters but ultimately recused himself. The legal method I employed was a private administrative remedy (attached). Prior to this writing I have attempted to communicate with Green City AND their attorney to reach a settlement. There were offers but the Green City management was argumentative and arrogant. The reason I share this information is to explain that IF I do not get a response from Green City regarding a final solution to our dispute and outstanding administrative remedy I will have no choice but to bring all of my available personal and consumer resources to bear against Green City and it's owners. This action will likely require the assistance of your inspection department. Not only will I need your assistance I will also request assistance from the City Attorneys office, the Sheriffs office and I will keep moving forward on the Federal Fair Collections reporting complaint. There is also an issue with the State Department of Revenue regarding tax collection. Consumer options like Angie's List, the Better Business Bureau, internet Complaint blogs and Industry web sites have yet to be utilized, But will thoroughly utilize them as well. I have also considered a web site specifically educating potential HVAC customers on how to address the issues I experienced in my dealings with Green City from start of bidding to ending up at a solution. I believe the issues I have previously raised with your office are a matter of record. If you have any comments please feel free to reach me. I hope to be inspection ready in the next 60 days. I am in the final stage of the process and need to know if your respective departments will require additional billing when I call you back for final inspection. The installer has acquired legal representation and as of yet I have had no meaningful communication. Once the administrative remedy is complete I will take steps to address the code deficiencies. Your permit will expire on 8/21/2017. Based on the above, you are hereby advised to: 1) Call the City of Tukwila Inspection Request Line at 206-438-9350 to schedule for the next or final inspection. Each inspection creates a new 180 day period, provided the inspection shows progress. -or- 2) Submit a written request for permit extension to the Permit Center at least seven(7) days before it is due to expire. Address your extension request to the Building Official and state your reason(s) for the need to extend your permit. The Building Code does allow the Building Official to approve one extension of up to 180 days. If it is determined that your extension request is granted, you will be notified by mail. In the event you do not call for an inspection and/or receive an extension prior to 8/21/2017, your permit will become null and void and any further work on the project will require a new permit and associated fees. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
