Chair Delostrinos Johnson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
I. BUSINESSAGENDA
A. Economic Development Division 2022 Work Plan
Staff presented the anticipated work items for the upcoming year.
Items for follow-up:
• Add Tukwila Village Community Development Association update to the Committee work
plan for 1st Quarter.
• Engage with Police Department and property owners on a cooperative approach to crime
and safety in the Southcenter District.
• Verify if all land sale revenue is included in the Public Safety Plan financing.

B. Tourism 2022 Work Plan
Staff presented an overview of tourism related activities for the year ahead.
Items for follow-up:
• Notify Committee members of engagement opportunities relating to Westfield
Southcenter

C. City of Tukwila Lodging Tax Applications
Experience Tukwila
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee forwarded a recommendation to approve $140,000 to
continue contracting with True Blue Strategies to continue monthly operations of Experience
Tukwila and to fund one-time items including website refresh, photo shoot, video creation,
and email template update.

Seawolves
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee forwarded a recommendation to approve $40,000 for the
City of Tukwila to partner on promotional activities with the Seattle Seawolves for the 2022
season.
Committee Recommendation
Unanimous approval of both applications. Forward to January 24, 2022 Special Consent
