START SEQUENCING OF CHILLERS (AND PUMPS) WILL REFLECT THEIR PRIORITIZATION BASED ON CURRENT STATUS OF ALARMS & POWER AT UCP. • CHILLERS WHICH HAVE PROVEN POWER TO THE UCP AND WHICH HAVE NO CURRENT MANUAL -RESET REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT ALARMS ACTIVE SHALL HAVE HIGHER START PRIORITY. • CHILLERS WHICH HAVE PROVEN POWER TO THE UCP AND WHICH HAVE JUST ONE CURRENT MANUAL -RESET REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT ALARMS ACTIVE SHALL HAVE LOWER START PRIORITY. GROUP ("WE") REQUESTS WILL BE IGNORED. WITH RESPECT TO SYSTEM BYPASS VALVE OPERATION, CHILLER SHALL ALWAYS OBEY "OPEN BYPASS" VALVE REQUEST AT EXPENSE OF "CLOSE BYPASS" REQUESTS. A. WHEN A MODULE EXECUTES A "CHILLER/PUMP START SEQUENCE", THE FOLLOWING WILL OCCUR: • LOGIC LOCKOUT USED TO ASSURE THAT ONCE THE START-UP SEQUENCE BEGINS, IT CAN BE UNINTERRUPTED UNTIL COMPLETED (NO "SHUTDOWN SEQUENCE" ALLOWED). • IF CHILLER'S ALC RESTART TIMER HAS EXPIRED (SEE ITEM 10A1A BELOW), AND IF CHILLER UCP HAS PROVEN POWER (R7 RELAY = ON), AND IF BOTH REFRIGERANT CIRCUITS ARE NOT IN ALARM, THEN: (A) CHILLER ISOLATION VALVE SHALL BE COMMANDED OPEN. • SINCE R10 HAS NORMALLY -CLOSED CONTACTS TO CLOSE THE VALVE, THE "OPEN ISOLATION VALVE" COMMAND MUST BE MAINTAINED WHENEVER VALVE REQUIRED TO BE OPEN. THIS CLOSES THE ISOLATION VALVE & SECURES CHILLER IF START SEQUENCE INTERRUPTED IN MID -CYCLE BY TEMPORARY POWER OR EQUIPMENT FAILURE. • ISOLATION VALVE REQUIRES 15 SECONDS TO TRAVEL FULL OPEN, BUT MAY ESTABLISH ACCEPTABLE MINIMUM FLOW IN ABOUT HALF THIS TIME. (B) WHEN VALVE IS PROVEN FULLY OPEN BY END SWITCH CONFIRMATION, THEN: (1) IF FLOW METER REPORTS FLOW < 650 GPM, THEN: • CHW PUMP WILL START. PUMP RUN STATUS SHALL BE PROVEN BY VFD STATUS CONTACT. WHEN MODULE DEMANDS A "NORMAL CHILLER/PUMP SHUTDOWN", EITHER ON BASIS OF "LESS COOLING" REQUESTS OR IN RESPONSE TO LAST 3 PARAGRAPHS IN "START SEQUENCE" ABOVE, THE FOLLOWING WILL OCCUR: • LOGIC LOCKOUT USED TO ASSURE THAT ONCE THE SHUTDOWN SEQUENCE BEGINS, IT CAN BE UNINTERRUPTED UNTIL COMPLETED (NO "CHILLERIPUMP START SEQUENCE" ALLOWED). • "CHILLER ENABLE" (D012, AND RELAY R9) CONTACT WILL OPEN, CAUSING CHILLER TO BEGIN AN ORDERLY SHUTDOWN ACCORDING TO ITS "EXTERNAL AUTOISTOP" ROUTINE. • ONCE CHILLER ENABLE CONTACT OPENED, CHILLER CANNOT EXECUTE A "CHILLER/PUMP START' • SEQUENCE FOR AT LEAST 120 SECONDS. ("CHILLER'S ALC RESTART TIMER"). • AFTER DELAY OF60 SECONDS (REQUIRED BY MANUFACTURER IN ORDER TO PERFORM 'FRIENDLY SHUTDOWN), • CHWP WILL BE COMMANDED TO STOP, IF IT WAS ALREADY PROVEN TO BE RUNNING, AND • CHILLER ISOLATION VALVE SHALLBE COMMANDED CLOSED.
