Call to Order: LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The City of Tukwila is located on the ancestral lands of the <br />Coast Salish people. We acknowledge their continuing connections to land, waters, and culture. Introduction of consultant developing the Tukwila Teen Art Collective: Grey Ellis <br />• Commissioners were invited to work with Grey Ellis regarding their community contacts and <br />possible opportunities. <br />6. Commissioners Reports <br />• Ongoing Business <br />o Sheila Coppola will email the finalized Portrait Project details to commissioners <br />■ ACTION ITEM: Commissioners approved the first community member portrait <br />of Jan Bolerjack of Riverton Park United Methodist Church. The total amount <br />allocated: $1050 (includes stipend and funds for canvas) <br />o Shawn Belyea gave updates to the proposed artist grant program. He will share this with <br />Pat Bako, who will share it with the commission. <br />o Annual Arts Festival: commissioners discussed the possibility of hosting the first event at <br />Hazelnut Park. <br />• New Business <br />o Cynthia Chesak proposed next year's Utility Box Art Program include boxes near the <br />schools and student artwork. She will learn more about what boxes are available. <br />7. Staff Reports: <br />• Ongoing Business: <br />o Strategic Plan Deliverables Status/Update: Tukwila Strategic Arts Plan 2024 Deliverables <br />Tracker.xlsx <br />• New Business: Kamala Kakaria's TAC application has been received by the Mayor's Office. A <br />background check is currently underway as part of the process. <br />8.
