City of Tukwila <br />City Council Planning & Community Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 10, 2025, 5:30 p.m. - Hybrid Meeting; City Council Conference Room & MS Teams <br />Councilmembers Present: Hannah Hedrick, Chair; Verna Seal, Joe Camacho <br />Staff Present: Nora G i e rloff, Laurel Humphrey <br />Chair Hedrick called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />BUSINESS AGENDA <br />A. Resolution: Hearing Examiner Appointment <br />Staff is seeking approval of a resolution ratifying the appointment of the Hearing Examiner and <br />eliminating the need for a resolution in addition to a contract to streamline future <br />appointments. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Unanimous approval. Forward to November 17, 2025 Regular Consent Agenda. <br />B. Tenant Protection Update <br />Committee members and staff discussed the implementation of House Bill 1217, which <br />strengthened certain protections in the Residential Landlord -Tenant Act. <br />Item(s) for follow-up: <br />• Help promote information to Tukwila residents and landlords. <br />• Obtain any updates on related litigation. <br />• Seek out state data around enforcement/complaints. <br />• Brief Councilmember Camacho on previous draft local ordinance. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Discussion only. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m. <br />HH <br />Committee Chair Approval <br />
