Meeting Minutes
March 9, 2026, 5:30 p.m. - Hybrid Meeting; City Council Conference Room & MS Teams
Councilmembers Present: Kate Kruller, Chair; Jo Camacho, Jane Ho
Staff Present: Nora Gierloff, Laurel Humphrey, Brandon Miles, Pete Mayer
Chair Kruller called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
BUSINESS AGENDA
A. Resolution: South King Housing & Homelessness Partners Capital Fund
Staff is seeking approval of a resolution allocating $121,530 from Tukwila's contribution to the
SKHHP Housing Capital Fund.
Committee Recommendation
Unanimous approval. Forward to March 23, 2026 Special Meeting Consent Agenda.
B. Lodging Tax Application: Experience Tukwila 2026
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee recommended approval of $215,000 for continued
funding of the Experience Tukwila initiative through 2026.

C. Contract: Station Domination World Cup Marketing
Staff is seeking approval of a contract with Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority in
the amount of $119,250 for the lodging -tax funded advertising campaign.

Unanimous approval. Forward to March 23, 2026 Special Meeting Consent Agenda.
D. Climate Change Strategies
Committee members discussed enhancing city actions and policies around mitigating climate
change. Common themes that emerged included the importance of community involvement,
resource limitations, competing priorities, creation of a community task force, potentially
requiring staff to complete a climate impact section on agenda bills. Chair Kruller will work
with staff on how best to present ideas to the full Council at the upcoming retreat.
