South 124th/50th Place Intersection Reconfiguration Project
Due June 02, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST)
The City of Tukwila is soliciting interest from consulting firms with expertise in Civil Engineering
Design for the City's South 124th/50th Place Intersection Reconfiguration project. This work will
be for approximately one year in duration with the option for the City to extend it for additional
time and money, if necessary.
The City's intent is to award a negotiated hourly rate professional services contract to the most
qualified firm. The City also reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for
any subsequent phases (ROW, DSDC, CM) associated with this project.
Project Description:
The intersection reconfiguration project will include utility coordination, design (30%, 60%, 90%,
and 100% submittals) to bid -ready documents (Plans, Specifications and Engineer's Estimate);
and necessary permitting. Proposed work includes but is not limited to reconfiguring the
intersection at S 124th St/50th Place S to remove the EB slip lane, establish protected pedestrian
facilities on both sides of S124th from 49th to 51st PI, extend the south edge of 124th walkways
onto 50th Place and tie in to existing paths at S 125th and provide new stormwater treatment/rain
garden in old slip lane ROW. The current project budget for all project phases, including
construction. is expected to be between $1 M and $1.5M.
Submittal:
Submittals shall take the form of a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ), should be no longer
than 15 pages, excluding dividers and resumes, and should be on 8-1/2 by 11 paper using a
minimum of 11-point font. Submittals should also include the following information: RFQ title,
project title, firm name, contact information of the designated contact person.
Electronic copies of the Proposal must arrive at the email inbox of the City's Project Manager
Mike.Ronda@TukwilaWA.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 02, 2026. Proposals
received later than the submittal deadline may not be accepted. Please reference the RFQ and
project title on all communications.
