AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 1997 BUDGET
ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1782, PROVIDING FOR
UNANTICIPATED EXPENDITURES IN THE RECREATION AND
FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND REDUCING ESTIMATED AND
DESIGNATED FUND BALANCES IN THE GENERAL FUND;
PROVIDING FOR UNANTICIPATED EXPENDITURES AND
UNANTICIPATED ASSESSMENT REVENUE IN THE SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT FUND; PROVIDE FOR UNANTICIPATED
EXPENDITURES AND UNANTICIPATED ESTIMATED
BEGINNING FUND BALANCE IN THE FACILITY REPLACEMENT
FUND; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND ESTABLISHING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that some recreation services are supported by
recreation and rental fees; and
WHEREAS, Fire services must have adquate manning to operate its fire trucks by using
overtime if necessary; and
WHEREAS, the City has additional revenues to retire L.I.D. bonds; and
WHEREAS, the City has carryover funds from 1996 to complete Fire Station #53 and
Tukwila Community Center construction; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make necessary budget increases and transfers to
accommodate these changes;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following program categories in the 1997 budget, as adopted by
Ordinance No. 1782, are hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 2. Ordinance No. 1782 is hereby amended by revising the summary of totals of
estimated revenues and appropriations and the aggregate total to reflect the foregoing
increases in revenues and appropriations as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance.
Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby authorized and instructed to effectuate the
necessary changes in the 1997 budget and to make all necessary and appropriate line item
entries and adjustments in order to reflect the increases to revenues and appropriations as set
forth in this ordinance.
Section 4. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to
be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section,
sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 5. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official
newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage
and publication as provided by law.

On /0 7 the City Council of the City of Tulcwila passed Ordinance
No. ending program categories in the 1997 budget, to provide for unanticipated
expenditures in the recreation and fire departments and reduce estimated and designated fund
balances in the general fund; to provide for unanticipated expenditures and unanticipated
assessment revenue in the special assessment fund; and to provide for unanticipated expenditures
and unanticipated estimated beginning fund balance in the facility replacement fund; providing
for severability and establishing an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who submits a
written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
