He described the meeting process that <br />occurred September 2012 - May 2013, explained the purpose of the work session, and introduced <br />Committee members. He also stated that while there would be no public comment opportunity, there is a <br />Planning Commission public hearing on June 27 and DCD will be accepting written comment through <br /> <br />that date. <br /> <br />Presentation <br />DCD Staff and Advisory Committee members delivered a comprehensive presentation of the <br />in the following areas: <br /> <br />Reviewing natural environment related goals/policies and recommending revisions <br /> <br />Considering new goals/policies for urban forestry and recommending City tree canopy goals <br /> <br />Providing guidance on: <br /> <br />Tree clearing, management and protection <br />o <br /> <br />Street tree management <br />o <br /> <br />Tree health and canopy on public lands <br />o <br /> <br />Landscaping requirements for commercial and industrial areas <br />o <br /> <br />enforceable regulations; planting, restoration and demonstration programs; and allocation of sufficient <br />resources. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
