<br /> <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />August 9, 2016 3:00 p.m. Tukwila Community Center <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Call to Order: Chairperson Brian Kennedy called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m. <br /> <br />Attendance: Commissioners - Brian Kennedy, Sheila Coppola, Steve Mullet, Cynthia Chesak, Trish Gilmore, <br />Daniel Humkey <br /> Staff - Dave Johnson <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: Steve Mullet moved to approve the minutes of July 12, 2016 meeting. Cynthia Chesak <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br />A.Rainier Symphony – no report <br /> <br />B.Backyard Wildlife Art Show – Committee provided a number of suggestions for the Art Show. Discussion <br /> <br />will be ongoing. Staff suggested that the committee work with Stephanie Gardner as she has run the show <br />for a number of years and would be able to provide good input. <br />C.Arts Promotion in Community – Committee provided a number of suggestions to promote Arts in the <br /> <br />community, including Social Media and a website. Staff suggested the committee work with Stephanie <br />Gardner as she is the point person for the Department’s communication efforts. <br /> <br />Other <br />A.Commissioners expressed desire to get banner program started. <br /> <br />B.Commission discussed options for Art Display wall at entrance to Tukwila Community Center. Staff will <br /> <br />present options at next meeting. <br /> <br />Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 4:30pm <br /> <br /> <br />Next Meeting: September 14, 2016 @ 5:00pm <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
