City of Tukwila <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Planning and Economic Development <br />FROM: Brandon Miles, Business Relations Manager <br />CC: Mayor Ekberg <br />DATE: July 27, 2020 <br />SUBJECT: Tourism Funding: Work Plan <br />ISSUE <br />Schedule for briefing Planning and Economic Development (PED) are issues related to tourism <br />funding as part of 2021/2022 budget update process. <br />BACKGROUND <br />At the July 20 PED meeting staff provided an overview of the status of the lodging tax fund and <br />requesting input on items to be reviewed as part of the lodging tax budget update. The lodging <br />tax budget is scheduled to be completed in October to be included in the City's overall budget. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Based upon last meeting's discussion, as well as previous discussions with PED, staff <br />has prepared the following draft schedule, including the dates for briefings to PED on <br />specific topics. Staff would like feedback (removing or adding items) on the topics as <br />well as which items should go to the full City Council for briefing.
