City of Tukwila <br />Allan Ekberg, Mayor <br />INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Planning and Economic Development <br />FROM: Brandon Miles, Business Relations Manager <br />CC: Mayor Ekberg <br />DATE: August 10, 2020 <br />SUBJECT: Lodging Tax Allowable Use and Procedure for Use of Funds <br />ISSUE <br />Briefing on allowable use of lodging tax funds and procedure for approving for the use of funds. <br />BACKGROUND <br />In October of 2016 staff presented two memorandums to the City Council which outlined <br />applicable State law provisions for the use of lodging tax funds and the procedure for how the <br />funds can be used, subject to the requirements of State law and the City Council's legislative <br />process.
