BUSINESS AGENDA <br />A. Ordinance: House Bill 1590, Local Sales & Use Tax for Affordable Housing <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of an ordinance that would increase the sales tax by .1% to <br />be used toward local investments in affordable housing and related services, pursuant to <br />House Bill 1590. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />No recommendation. Forward to October 5, 2020 Regular Meeting. <br />B. Tourism Funding: Lodging Tax Six -Year Financial Model <br />Councilmembers and staff discussed the lodging tax six-year financial model and anticipated <br />reductions due to COVID-19 impacts. <br />Items requiring follow-up <br />• Revise financial model to show removal of funding for contracted destination <br />marketing services (SSRTA) <br />• Provide general guidelines for use of tourism funds (lodging tax and TPA fee). <br />• Create a work plan for review of the Tourism Promotion Area interlocal agreement <br />• Remove parenthetical examples from the "Small Events" category <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Discussion only. <br />C. Land Sales Process <br />Staff presented an overview of the process for selling city property, which is codified at TMC <br />2.64 and includes multiple steps requiring Council approval. Land sales can be simple or <br />complex and sometimes impacted by competing priorities. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Discussion only. <br />
